How do we become the best version of ourselves?

Pride Gala July 2022

How do we become the best version of ourselves? It's a question that has been asked time and time again, and the answer is simple yet challenging. Becoming the best version of ourselves requires us to do hard things. What we truly value in life demands effort, dedication, and hard work. Getting comfortable and avoiding challenges is easy, but doing hard things helps us grow and develop into the person we're meant to be.

Think about the moments in your life that you're most proud of. Maybe it's a project at work that you poured your heart and soul into, a difficult conversation you had with a loved one, or a personal goal you achieved after months of effort. These are the moments that shape us, that build our character and our resilience.

But doing hard things takes work. It can be uncomfortable, even painful, at times. It takes commitment and determination. However, we learn the most about ourselves in those moments of discomfort and pain. We understand what we're truly capable of, how to push through adversity, and that we're stronger than we ever thought possible.

So, how do we start doing hard things? It begins with a mindset shift. Instead of fearing challenges and discomfort, we need to embrace them. We need to see them as opportunities for growth and learning rather than obstacles to be avoided. We need to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Another critical strategy is breaking down big goals into smaller, more manageable steps. It's easy to become overwhelmed and give up before even starting when faced with a daunting task. But by breaking things down into smaller steps, we can make progress and build momentum, motivating us to keep going. What daily habits do you practice that help you focus on your goals? What you do daily is a micro version of whom you are becoming. Take a closer look at your daily snapshot of activities.

Lastly, we must surround ourselves with people who support and challenge us. A community of like-minded individuals who share our values and goals can be incredibly motivating and empowering. And when we have people who believe in us, it can give us the courage to take risks and push ourselves to new heights. So, look at who you choose to surround yourself with. Do they encourage your growth and elevate you? If you need to, re-evaluate whom you spend your precious moments with.

In conclusion, becoming the best version of ourselves requires us to do hard things. But, by embracing challenges, pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones, and surrounding ourselves with supportive people, we can grow and develop into the person we're meant to be. So, let's embrace the hard things, push ourselves to be our best selves, and never stop growing and learning.

Get excited to become the best version of yourself. You are unstoppable!
